
Ms. Leonie Holness
Deputy Headteacher of Inclusion
Mrs. Mitchell-Holness is an experienced educator entering her 23rd year of teaching. She spent 15 years working in schools across London, where she honed her craft and developed outstanding teaching practices, before moving into international education. She is now in her 9th year of teaching and leadership in the UAE and her 6th year at Regent International School.
Passionate about inclusive education, Mrs. Mitchell-Holness has served as a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) and, for the past 15 years, as an Assistant Headteacher and most recently Deputy Headteacher with responsibility for Inclusion. She is deeply committed to ensuring that every child has equal opportunities and equitable access to learning, enabling all students to thrive and reach their full potential in a safe and supportive environment.
Mrs. Mitchell-Holness holds a Bachelor of Education (BEd.) with QTS from Canterbury Christ Church University and a Master of Education (MEd) in Leadership, Management, and Change from St. Mary’s University, Twickenham. She is also a qualified Specialist Assessor (CPT3A) and holds a Diploma in Counselling.
She is dedicated to working in close partnership with staff and parents to nurture students’ well-being, learning, and success.
